JOB DESCRIPTION

Leadership and Team Management:

    • Lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing application management team across the CEE region.
    • Foster a culture of innovation, continuous learning, and knowledge sharing within the teams as well as an agile mindset and organization.
    • Conduct performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.

Application Strategy and Development:

    • Develop a comprehensive application strategy with the involvement of the customers that incorporates emerging technologies and industry trends.
    • Oversee the entire application lifecycle, from concept to deployment and beyond.
    • Ensure the scalability and security of applications to meet evolving customers’ business needs.

Application Maintenance and Optimization:

    • Regularly assess application performance and implement enhancements for better efficiency.
    • Establish a robust process for application issue resolution and downtime minimization.
    • Drive the adoption of automation in application management processes.

Project Management:

    • Plan and execute large-scale application development and integration projects.
    • Ensure project milestones are met and align with customer goals.
    • Implement risk management strategies to mitigate potential project pitfalls.

Stakeholder Management and Collaboration:

    • Build strong relationships with the customers, internal stakeholders and external vendors.
    • Communicate effectively with non-technical stakeholders to translate complex IT concepts.
    • Negotiate contracts and manage vendor relationships to ensure favorable terms.

Budget and Resource Management:

    • Develop and manage the maintenance and procurement.
    • Optimize resource allocation to ensure maximum efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
    • Monitor and report on expenditure, ensuring transparency and accountability.

Compliance and Quality Assurance:

    • Ensure all applications comply with legal and regulatory requirements.
    • Implement quality assurance processes to maintain high standards in application delivery.
    • Stay abreast of compliance changes and adjust application management practices accordingly.

Innovation and Research:

    • Encourage and oversee research into new technologies and methodologies.
    • Implement innovative solutions to enhance application functionality and user experience.
    • Stay informed about industry trends to keep the organization at the forefront of technology.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

    • Work closely with other teams, such as infrastructure and security, to ensure a cohesive technology strategy.
    • Collaborate with customers to understand their needs and ensure IT alignment.
    • Promote a culture of cross-functional cooperation and shared objectives.

Training and Development:

    • Develop training programs for team members on new technologies and best practices.
    • Encourage continuous professional development and certification of team members.
    • Identify skill gaps and implement strategies to address them.

Requirements

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Work Experience: At least 5 years of experience in application management, including significant leadership roles.
  • Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of application development and maintenance, including understanding of software development life cycle, project management methodologies, and agile frameworks.
  • Language Proficiency: Fluency in English; knowledge of regional languages (Hungarian, Czech, Slovak, or German) is a plus.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent leadership and communication skills, ability to work in a multicultural environment, and strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Travel Requirements: Willingness to travel within the CEE region.
